Acerca de esta escucha

Baphomet, often misunderstood and cloaked in misinterpretations, has left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness, standing at the crossroads of the occult, religion, and the quest for arcane knowledge. This provocative entity, existing simultaneously as myth, magick, and symbol, demands an exploration not bound by the confines of a single discipline or perspective. Baphomet Revealed sets out to undertake this multifaceted exploration. Over the years, Baphomet has been called a demon, deity, and the devil himself, but Baphomet is none of these.

Baphomet's origins are as elusive as its symbolic form, yet we begin our inquiry with the Templars, where the name Baphomet was perhaps first uttered or misunderstood as a distortion of the name of the prophet Muhammad. We trace Baphomet's course through history, their intersections with Gnostic thought, Freemasonry, the teachings of Aleister Crowley, and the myriad occult groups that have drawn upon their potent symbolism. While Baphomet has often been misconstrued as a demonic figure, the figure is, in reality, a symbol—a complex cipher holding within its form the keys to profound philosophical and esoteric truths. Baphomet Revealed will take listeners on a journey that weaves together the threads of history, symbolism, and esoteric philosophy, unraveling the tapestry of Baphomet's enduring mystique.

Amazing

I wish everyone could read this book! She does such a articulate job of taking so much history and breaking it down.

A snapshot of the history of the mysterious deity

It could be argued that this tome is long overdue, seeing how often Baphomet has featured in events in our world (mostly the US) recently.

But those with an interest in occult and magick will already be familiar with the deity, and this book provides a greater background that is not always apparent or discussed. I certainly enjoyed it.

There is an erratum: the author states that the Egyptian origins of the deity lay with Amun, when it is in fact Banebdjedet that has points in common with Baphomet, and may actually be His genesis. This is discussed in detail in Llewellyn's recent Encyclopedia Of Egyptian Deities by Dr. Tamara Suida.

The narrator is excellent.

Nothing new

I was hoping for an ontological study on the concept of baphomet.
But they talked at length about everything surrounding baphomet as a concept and the subjects surrounding it versus the absolute subject of.
I didn’t learn anything new , just a knights Templar puff piece with some Aliester Crowley & Thelma fluff :( .
I think the book is great for very very new practitioners ,
This was disappointing. I want a refund :(

Extremely basic, a Nothingburger, and it almost feels as if it was written by AI

It just feels as if it was written by AI or edited by a fourth grader. There’s almost no deep dive here either. It’s all just very basic. I really wanted a lot more actual info and interpretations on Baphomet but it’s just the same surface level statements over and over and over.
