Outstanding addition to the series!

Baffled in the Boutique is the 8th in the Temp Job Cozy Mystery series by K.B. Blake. In this book, Scarlett Chase is working at a home decor boutique while the assistant is out on maternity leave. Scarlett is enjoying using her interior design expertise in this temp position, despite her prickly boss and entitled customers. It gets more complicated when a murdered woman is found in the shop, an internet scam impacts the owner and Scarlett’s investigating reveals cheating and blackmail. I love this series and the characters are relatable and likeable old friends. With each book, the reader can pick up where we left off and have another great adventure together. The character development over the course of the series is outstanding. Although each book is a standalone, there are some overarching themes and story lines that continue through the series. This book left a cliffhanger so we can be assured that Scarlett will be on the case again in the future. The narration by Amber Battaglia is outstanding. She creates unique voices and accents for all the characters. Her wonderful performance brings the characters and story to life.

Home Decor with a Touch of Murder

Baffled in the Boutique is Book 8 in A Temp Job Cozy Mystery by K B Blake. I believe that this series is incredible. To me, because Scarlett works temp jobs, each book is so different. Scarlett's temp job is Home Decor and close to her love of interior design. But, her boss, Flora, was not supposed to find a dead body in the boutique! Great characters that I enjoy reading about and creative mysteries are the hallmark of this author. This murder has twists and so many unexpected surprises. I solved the crime...can you?

Temp Job in a boutique and murder

Baffled in the Boutique is the 8th book and a great new addition to K.B. Blake's A Temp Job Cozy Mystery series. The characters are very likable and the cozy mystery kept me guessing. Scarlett Chase is currently working temporarily at a home decor store and she loves being back in Interior Design. Her boss Flora is nice but quirky as are some of the customers. When Flora opens the store she finds someone dead. Scarlett can't figure out what happened which makes her curious. Scarlett and her boyfriend Austin see more of each other which is fun but she investigates on her own. Her family and friends are supportive and add to the story. This is my favorite book in the series (so far) and it was hard to put down! Very enjoyable! The audiobook narrated by Amber Battaglia is well done. #BaffledInTheBoutique #ATempJobCozyMystery #MountainsidePress #KBBlake
