What Kind of President Tells Security Forces to Shoot Youth? It’s Time for a Change
What kind of president issues orders to shoot youth—but not kill them? “Shoot them in the legs, let them bleed, send them to the hospital, and then let them await trial.” These chilling words are not from a leader; they’re from a rogue. A bandit president, someone who has no regard for human life or dignity. If it was your son or daughter, would you still speak like this? Would you still be indifferent if these lives were close to you? It’s a chilling reality when the leader of a nation dehumanizes its youth—your youth.
Imagine a president who, instead of steering the country toward peace and prosperity, directs violence at its most vulnerable members. What kind of man says, “shoot them, but don’t kill them”? Would a truly caring president issue such orders? Would someone who has the nation’s best interest at heart send armed forces to maim unarmed youth, leaving them to bleed on the streets, while the world watches?
This is the reality under the current administration. A president who should be safeguarding the rights of every Kenyan, regardless of their background, has instead become a perpetrator of violence against his own people. He has chosen to harm rather than protect. What kind of a person tells security officers to shoot unarmed youth, simply for protesting their government? How can you, as a Kenyan citizen, trust a leader who orders his forces to inflict pain and suffering on innocent people? His actions speak volumes about his disdain for the very people he swore to protect.
