Freedom-Where Does It Come From?

Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall, reviews the history and purpose of Independence Day – 4th of July. As a day when freedom is celebrated, he delves into the definition of freedom. He points out how Americans take their freedoms for granted and do not even understand what freedoms are protected by the First Amendment. Dr. Hall provides the meaning behind Jesus’s statement that, “The truth will set you free.” The kind of spiritual bondage that can enslave everyone to sin is explored. Dr. Hall points out that both Jesus and the apostle Paul emphasized that true freedom is found in obedience to God’s truth. It is pointed out that if one stays on the path of the sinful life, they will not find freedom or liberty – only allusions that will discourage them from seeking the real freedom that only Christ can give.
