PADRES POSTCAST: BAD BLOOD BOILS OVER in San Diego PADRES 8-6 LOSS to Los Angeles DODGERS IN LA

Will Smith’s 2-run homer snapped a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 6th inning, giving the LA Dodgers the lead they’d never give back in a heated 8-6 win over the Padres in Los Angeles.

Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts was kicked out of the game after each team’s megastar- Fernando Tatis Jr., and Shohei Ohtani- were hit by pitches. Jose Iglesias was also plunked in the 7th inning.

Andy Pages- who was plunked by Dylan Cease last night- went 4 for 4 tonight with a pair of 2-out home runs and an RBI single during LA’s 5-run 6th when the Dodgers took an 8-3 lead.

Jeremiah Estrada (2-4) took the L for the Padres.

Former Padres Tanner Scott pitched the 9th and picked up his 14th save.

Pinch-hitter Trenton Brooks hit his 1st career home run a bases-loaded balk by Michael Kopech cut the LA lead to 8-6 in the 7th.

San Diego loaded the bases again in the 8th- and they had Luis Arráez at the plate, but the 3-time batting champion was retired to end the inning.

Ohtani struck out 4 times, just 1 night after making his pitching debut for the Dodgers, almost 2 years after having his 2nd elbow surgery.

The Padres and Dodgers play this 4-game series tomorrow, with 1st pitch set for 7:10pm PT.

Padres RHP Stephen Kolek (3-2, 3.50 ERA) starts Wednesday against Dodgers RHP Emmet Sheehan, who will be making his 1st MLB start in 2 years since having Tommy John surgery last year.
