Beth is unbelievable
This narrator, Beth Kesler, makes over twenty different district and recognizable voices. Her narration makes these stories come to life. I have listened to this collection will over a dozen times. Thank you, Beth!

wonderful writing! like living a century ago
The books are all beautifully written and read. They were hugely delightful and interesting. I feel like I had a window into another time and place and it really made my life that much better for reading these. The final book seems to lose a bit of steam and went rather unbearably slowly over the war years. That said, it did give a real flavor of what it would be like to live for years with the trials and daily tension of WWI. I completely recommend.

Delightful reading
When I listened to the sample, I felt unsure I would enjoy this reading. As we finish the 2nd book, I realized I've come to so enjoy all the unique voices I needed to come and praise it.
