excellent mapping of a witches body

LTZ's map of the Witche's body was a great read & timely too post COVID to help me get & stay motivated on my path towards better health & spiritual nurturing. As I was listening it inspired me to create a painting of the anatomy for myself.

Embody Your Magick

I find myself very grateful to be alive at the same time as Laura Tempest Zakroff. It’s hard for me not to gush about her work, but she is indeed one of my favorite witchcraft authors of all time, and this book is another example of why. Anatomy of a Witch: A Map to the Magical Body explores the embodiment of the witch, both literally and figuratively, giving a symbolic anatomy for the reader to work with energetically and physically to connect deeper with themselves, their power, the mysteries of witchcraft, and more importantly, the Universe around them. Using meditations, energy exercises, rituals, sigils, journaling prompts, and tarot references, Tempest weaves a fantastic reality map to explore that doesn’t disappoint.

While many religions and spiritual traditions aim to deny the body or view it as an obstacle of temptation to overcome, witchcraft tends to be a path that embraces the opposite. Tempest explores how the physical body and physical existence is not only a holy vessel for the witch but a map to spiritual aspects of ourselves and tools for connection with the greater metaphysical reality. Tempest writes with the insight and groundedness of a modern-day Doreen Valiente, the creativity and passion of a modern-day Rosaleen Norton, and the poetic language, artistic style, and wisdom that is uniquely her own. Informative and easy to follow

I absolutely love this book! I would need a physical copy or a visual reference for some of the rituals, especially for the sigils. I was captivated and felt like I was able to visualize and follow the exercises well. This is also one of the only books I have been able to finish in years.

Reminds us to use intuition for our many inner worlds, as much as for the outer layers of physical reality.

I very much appreciate the author (Laura) for realizing the importance of writing about this topic. It was a great reminder that beckons us to turn our intuition upon our "self", the body, mind, heart and spirit. To use every part of our "self" as a sensory organ or medium for discernment of our place within the cosmos.

I feel fortunate to have listened to this book while it was free through my Audible subscription and certainly reaped valuable insight from it. It brought up several new perspectives in many areas that will help me grow and connect to myself and the external worlds.

Itt also reminded me of many realizations I once had, but that I let got lost in the clutter of lifes busy schedule! That was truly and amazing thing to have reawoken. Im sure this book will remind you of your own past thoughts you once had that got crowded out by obligations (are they really even worth obligating ones self toward...)

We've all had very important perspective changing epiphanies that come to our spirits and hearts when we need them. That are meant to change our focus, our direction, even our entire life path. I feel listening to this book has helped me rediscover inner whisperings, added valuable new inner whisperings, and will certainly help to inspire me further (or anyone) to stop and listen to ourselves with more respect and honor. Whether it be our body speaking, our heart, our mind, individual organs, and to trust our physical responses to any of lifes stimuli that we encounter.

I will take this information as it was intended, to help me grow, for self discovery, to harness the inner power to create better life goals, and make better overall health in all aspects and more distinct priority!

No PDF for Sigils

Love the book so far, but there's no PDF attached. Each chapter has a sigil associated with it, and I figured there would be a PDF so we could have access to it but there isn't. Pretty unfortunate, but still great material.

It's a good book when...

It's a good book when you listen to it more than once, and then listen again more intently. I absolutely love how the author goes all the way back to to the origins/roots/genesis and how it all still correlates with yourself. I love how real the author is, but is not degrading nor rude. You can hear how much love she has for what she does; by the words she chooses and chooses to share her personal and professional knowledge. My husband is a USN Corpsman, and he has actually enjoyed what she has had to say as well. If you're willing, that's the first step. Thank you for writing this book Laura Tempest Zakroff!
