THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER

For all of the West's failings—terrible food, cold weather and questionable politicians with funny hair to name a few—it has its upsides. Konstantin would know. Growing up in the Soviet Union, he experienced first-hand the horrors of a socialist paradise gone wrong, having lived in extreme poverty with little access to even the most basic of necessities. It wasn't until he moved to the UK that Kisin found himself thriving in an open and tolerant society, receiving countless opportunities he would never have had otherwise.

Funny, provocative and unswervingly perceptive, An Immigrant's Love letter to the West interrogates the developing sense of self-loathing the Western sphere has adopted and offers an alternative perspective. Exploring race politics, free speech, immigration and more, Kisin argues that wrongdoing and guilt need not pervade how we feel about the West—and Britain—today, and that despite all its ups and downs, it remains one of the best places to live in the world.

After all, if an immigrant can't publicly profess their appreciation for this country, who can?

Awesome!

Perfect balance between intelligence, common sense and wit. Kisin’s delivery on the idiocracy that stable people now face is right in point.

5 stars

Great summary of the issues that threaten us today. Most are not newly invented problems but rather an example of history repeating itself.

Intriguing insight from immigrant who has actually experienced socialism

Unlike this country's uninformed social warriors screaming for socialism, Konstantin has experienced socialism first-hand and provides factual information in an informative and entertaining way. I highly recommend this read or listen.

Truth hurts

As immigrants, we see the evils and we recognize it. Great book. Great author. Keep up educating the West.

Gender of the Angels 🙄

True or not … there is a legend that all the way to the Fall of Constantinople (1453), the Byzantines were busy quarreling among themselves about the sex and/or gender of the angels.
This is the EU of today surrounded by islamic countries, Russia, China who hate Europe and want its decay … yet, instead of trying to prepare to defense ourselves - EU focuses on a definition of a woman, or banning defense industry from any external financing (bad and evil right - we will defend ourselves with clean air when the Russians come).
Sadly - everything so true, and yet, as Kinstantin, having born in w Soviet Block country, I missed the West all my lufe, to only now see it commutting suicide …

Missing necessary sentence

Konstantin goes from talking about Michael Moore to using “she” which was jarring and seemed to indicate a missing passage. Sure enough, the sentence, “Actress Susan Sarandon is another example.” should come before, “She has an estimated wealth of US$50 million…” but seems to have been accidentally omitted.
