what an experience

This was highly suspenseful with nonstop action. I was on the edge of my seat gripping the arm and wondering what now???? The perseverance and tenacity of the FBI on Drake and his cronies was intense. I must admit my heart was in my throat and tears were shed 💔
for a fallen hero in my eyes. I wish it could have turned out differently but... This was a very rousing and engrossing listen I enjoyed . I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a phenomenal job bringing the characters and story to life. All the different voices for individuals characters was amazing.

Beautifully Plotted, Ohh Those Twists and “Surprises” Sooo Good!

Wendy thought she loved Sheldon Drake … or maybe she just loved what came with being the wife of a powerful man … the lifestyle, the prestige, the money... Of course, eventually Sheldon showed his true colors and when she’d had enough … Wendy planned … then she ran! Now Wendy’s in hiding, not knowing who to trust “Among the Lies” … leaving her only … one … deadly … choice! Beautifully plotted, and packing more twists than a sidewinder in the desert sun, this story will keep you guessing from beginning to end! When I say “beautifully plotted” I am not kidding or exaggerating! There is SO MUCH to this story! Let’s start with the multifaceted plot. In addition to the bit I referenced earlier, there are several “subplots” deftly interwoven together creating a supremely interesting and cohesive environment for all the characters to exist! Their world resonates as completely authentic! I’m not giving details so as not to engage in spoilers, but I will tell you that the characters living these stories are so exceptionally well developed that as I got to know them, I felt as if I was sharing in their lives! I was moved to tears by some, feared for a few, and in some cases wanted to play whack a mole … with them popping up in the holes on the game board! What really impressed me was the ongoing character development as the story progressed. There were quite a few characters that caused me to have a change of heart … some positive and some not so much, but the details won’t be shared here. I don’t want to spoil any of the many twisty surprises this story holds! As you listen, all will be revealed! This story is twist filled and engrossing! I got totally lost in this one. I was completely consumed! I was also completely stunned by a few of the “surprises” our author had planted in this one, things I won’t be revealing here, but “punch packing” doesn’t begin to cover! I though maybe I wasn’t paying proper attention … ya know I’m not getting any younger … AND the story is fantastic … sooo when I finished, I listened again … from beginning to end, and nope, I didn’t miss a thing! I didn’t see “any of those surprises” coming because our author is just THAT good! And listening twice was a delight because the narration is top notch professional perfection! Everything about “Among the Lies” is absolute perfection, FIVE star perfection! I LOVED it!

I found this story a bit cliche. It was good, but it reminded me of so many other books. Narration by Jeff Moon was well done. I was given this book free for an honest review.
