It’s not your typical textbook—more like a conversation that weaves past and present into one cohesive story. If you’re curious about how America got to where it is now, this is a great place to start.

I love American History

When I was in high school, I gained some knowledge of American history. As I bought this audiobook, I learned more profound things that I had never been taught, because there’s always so much to know that it's necessary. The things I learned were about the American Civil War and some aspects of American politics. I also learned about Christopher Columbus, who discovered America in 1492, and it was a refresher. I am always eager to learn more because we were born and live in North America. We love America; although I live in Canada, I have a deep affection for the United States.

Helped Me See the Bigger Picture

Definitely worth reading. I picked this up hoping to make better sense of how our past connects to the issues we’re dealing with now—and it really delivered. I really enjoyed this audiobook. It gives clear and thoughtful overview of important events and people in American history without feeling too heavy or too much like a textbook. The stories were so well told and it helped me to see how the past still connects to today and is extremely relevant. It’s easy to follow and it totally kept my interest the entire time I was listening!!!!

What really stood out to me was the attention to often-overlooked voices and lesser-known stories about the Founding Fathers.
