He’s decided I’ll be his wife, and for reasons I can’t quite fathom, he refuses to be scared off. No matter how hard I try to thwart him, Freddie matches me move for move, his persistence chipping away at the walls I’ve so carefully built.
The more time I spend with him, the more my resolve begins to falter. His sensibility challenges my cynicism, his charm softens my stubbornness, and his smile… well, let’s not talk about that.
I’ve sworn never to believe in love. But what happens if love refuses to take no for an answer?
