Acerca de esta escucha
Don and Judy made a dozen trips to Sedona before we joined them, so they helped us discover and appreciate the glorious sunsets, sunrises, mountains, creeks, canyons, cliffs, restaurants, the Tlaquepaque shopping district, a cowboy dinner show and music in Cottonwood, a refreshing train ride up the Verde Canyon from Clarkdale, a luncheon at the exquisite Enchantment Resort, the “ghost town” of Jerome which stubbornly clings to life on the steep side of mountain, and an active church for cowboys and for those who appreciate the frankness and plain talk, plus the other ethical values that make up "the cowboy way." Stop by and enjoy the relaxed simplicity of a cowboy church worship.
When the discussion turns to Sedona, it is far better to talk less and show more. That is why I have included 276 full color photos and 87 graphics.. More show and less talk. It is available online as either an 8x10" 264 page paperback book or an eBook. In either case, most of the photos and graphics are in living color. It also features 12 poems, 11 of which are by Don Betts, and some artwork by Peggy.
Sedona is our main focus. We dug deeply into the history of this enchanted town and area. And we gathered a few other photos from other sources to make sure you would look at the very best. Also, we give you a guided tour of the upscale Tlaquepaque shopping district. And you’ll get probably your first peak at the unusual decor in the local cowboy church. Lots to see and do, so buy the book to help with planning your trip to the diamond on the desert, captivating Sedona.
We also talk about the interesting historical landscapes of the nearby towns of Clarkdale, Jerome, and Cottonwood. Each has a remarkable story, with historic events and intriguing people. Gold and copper mining booms and, eventually, busts. Each community has experienced years of slow grow, occasional years of rapid growth, and painful years of economic and population losses. These tough sons and daughters of hardy pioneer settlers have much to brag about, and even more for which to feel deep gratitude. It is hard to image living in such an area, where stunningly beauty different views are just around the next bend in the road or up the next canyon; but that is a normal day for residents in the area.
We invite you to buy a copy of this book for relaxing views of some of nature’s greatest handiwork. And, if you’re making your first trip to the Sedona region (or your 10th), you will find plenty of suggestions about what to see and do.
