Stronger Together
Always Orchid was introduced to me through a bookclub win. It can be read as a standalone but the two first books give a background to Orchid and Phoenix, the main characters. It’s is a bonus that Carol Van Den Hende, the author narrates her book. What better person than the author knows the tone needed at different times.
Orchid had issues from childhood and after a traumatic and life changing occurrence Phoenix had issues of his own. Phoenix didn’t want to burden Orchid with his problems because he thought she had enough of her own. When two broken people come together, one has to become stronger.
I loved how Orchid and Phoenix became stronger together. Truly a beautiful story.

I fell in love with the characters in Always, Orchid. I was able to immerse myself into their lives, feel their joy, the happy moments and unfortunately the pain. I found myself constantly fighting for the relationship and hoping for their understanding of each other.
Ms. Van De Hende performance as the narrator was spot on. This was my 1st time hearing her narrate and I felt she gave each character their own identity. I definitely would give her 5-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in her writing and narration. I look forward to listening to: "Goodbye, Orchid."
