At 18, she left her hometown of Barbier Point, Louisiana, longing to be free of her father's chokehold on her life and with a heart full of dreams she hoped would come true. Years later, she is forced to return home with at least one granted wish - her daughter, Sydney.
Alex Soileau stood at Dana's side for years tossing her coins into the well, making the same wish each time, a secret plea that she refused to reveal even to her best friend. Time and maturity insisted that she give up on her one fervent desire, but her heart never would.
Reunited as adults, both women realize that maybe there was magic in the well after all.

HILARIOUS!!!!!
MawMaw stole every scene!!! The dialogue as written is hilarious, and Lori Prince's performance had me bent over in stitches -- AT WORK!!!!! I have deep roots in and around New Iberia, LA, and I never felt insulted or that the accents were over-the-top. A delightful story with distinct, memorable characters and voices. Alexander did a marvelous job keeping the story realistic. Age is a factor!!! lol

Lol funny
Really good book and Lori Prince did such a good job with Thelma. I did laugh out loud more than once and especially when Thelma was performing one of her soliloquies. Don’t listen after you’ve been drinking a lot of water or you might not make it. The story came across as realistic and sweet.

Narrator too loud.
Narrator so loud at times it literally made me jump and hurt my ears. Took away from enjoyment of book. Mainly as Thelma character.

Very cute and sweet love story
This author is so wonderful and how she writes. I love her sense of humor and her development of characters. Such a sweet love story. Lori Prince, of course, was expert in her narration. I love listening to her and how she narrates each character.

Alexander and Prince at their best.
This story is a precious slow burn. Dana and Alex reunite and rekindle a childhood/adolescent friendship. Family and life present challenges and hilarity. Enjoy; I did.

Funny and endearing
I’ve listened to two of Robin Alexander’s books now and I find them really funny and endearing. I really am laughing out loud. Very cute story. Would recommend for a sweet lil rom com. I’m going to need to find more now.
