Ausgehend von den beiden ikonischen Daten 753 v. Chr. (der Legende nach die Gründung Roms) und 476 n. Chr. (die Absetzung des letzten weströmischen Kaisers Romulus Augustulus) umfasst die Geschichte des Römischen Reiches mehr als 1200 Jahre. Das war nicht nur ein langer Zeitraum, sondern auch ein ereignisreicher - immerhin eroberten die Bewohner der Stadt am Tiber ein Reich, das bei seiner größten Ausdehnung 116 n. Chr. den Großteil Europas sowie Teile Nordafrikas und Kleinasiens umfasste.
Die Geschichte Russlands
Sie wollten schon immer mehr über die russische Geschichte erfahren? Sie finden aber kaum Zeit, sich über die über tausendjährige Geschichte des größten Landes der Welt zu Genüge zu informieren? Sie wollten schon immer aktuelle Ereignisse des globalen Geschehens erfassen und dabei besonders die aktuelle russische Politik verstehen? Japanische Mythologie
Aus europäisch-westlicher Sicht erscheint vieles, was mit dem Staat Japan, einschließlich seiner Geschichte und Kultur und der dort lebenden Menschen zusammenhängt, nicht nur fremd, sondern auch in gewisser Weise unzugänglich und unverständlich. Diejenigen, die sich nicht explizit damit beschäftigen, haben häufig keinerlei Bezug zu Japan. Das gilt selbstverständlich auch für die japanische Mythologie. Im Gegensatz zur griechisch-römischen oder nordisch-germanischen Mythologie ist der Kenntnisstand darüber im Westen eher gering.
Nordische Mythologie
Beinahe jedem sind Namen wie Thor und Loki aus Filmen, Comics und anderen Ecken der Medienwelt heute geläufig, aber woher stammen diese?
Genau damit befasst sich dieses Buch. Sie tauchen für eine Weile in die Ursprünge dieser bekannten Namen ein - in die nordische Mythologie.
