As good as any past Partridge. Six hours of solid gold, read the way it should be - by the man himself. Great on the earpods for a trek to your nearest power plant or service station mini mart.

Fabulous. Brilliantly well observed, clever, funny and poignant. I loved it. Got so much more out of it with the audio version. ❤

A great achievement, but not as great of an achievement as his autobiography.

Mr Partridge's autobiography, and Great New World, by Axol O'Lerpler.

The chapter in which Alan describes Alpha Papa.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I rarely sit for six hours, thank you very much. Of course, I sleep at night, so I am lying down for six hours, but that's really beside the point.

Any additional comments?

Is this book as good as his autobiography? No. Does the Partridge still deliver a punch? Yes.

Alan had a lot to live up to, as his autobiography was (and still is) excellent, and I listen to it religiously (not literally--that would be ridiculous). While Nomad is entertaining, it is just not the same. If you're new to Mr Partridge, I recommend you start with his autobiography and then listen to this. You won't be disappointed (unless you are).

Having already bought the paper version of the book I couldn't resist the talking version.

Non-Stop Jokes

It seems every phrase in this book contains a *fistful of jokes. And although brimming with comedy, the humor has a certain subtly to it that makes the laughs all the more rewarding. Diving into Alan Partridge's dillusional mind and understanding how he sees himself and the world is comic gold. Steve Coogan's performance narrating the book makes it even better. For those that love the character this book is a must. However, it can thoroughly be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates good humor.


*"Fistful" sounds much cooler than "handful".

A-Ha!

Normally the above exclamation (referring to the title of my review, not any others commenting using foul language, which is common among the more working class of fan) would be transcribed (incorrectly) as “Aha!”, which to these ears sounds like a cheap knock-off of the Euro (an abbreviation for European inhabitants collectively that I’m not fond of but must use for brevity’s sake) one hit wonder group A-Ha.
Now I know that is the same way of transcribing that very well known phrase made famous by one of the English speaking world’s most well known celebrity broadcasters, Alan Partridge, but I think it is distinct with the point of exclamation at the end of the phrase denoting the correct inflection to be used to avoid any confusion.
A good book, well read.

Hilarious and fun

Make sure you get to at least chapter 3, once they're you have the gist of the pace, styling, and sense of humor. Steve Coogan is hilarious, and the creation of Alan Partridge is masterful. Time to listen to the next few... I definitely recommend
