Shocking/True/Convicting
With what seems like hints of sarcasm in describing Martha’s take, it only convicted me more. I don’t think I can ever be a Martha again. How the author pulled out these truths, is beyond me and I think had to have been revealed by the Lord. Just think about this…you don’t think Jesus is worth having someone at his feet in adoration - so much so that you actually ask Him to tell the very one who is giving you pleasure to stop doing so. What nerve! Same was true for Judas, concerning his comment about the perfume-oil. We are actually telling Jesus to His face that spending our time and resources on Him is not worth it. Oh my Jesus, you are worth more than life to me. Help me, Lord to be more like Mary.
