Mickiewicz nie jawi się tu wyłącznie jako geniusz, cudowne dziecko romantyzmu. Jest mężczyzną z krwi i kości – delikatnym i uduchowionym, ale też kochliwym, burkliwym, zadufanym w sobie, równie skłonnym do uniesień, jak i konfliktów.
