Excellent and helpful listen
I bought this book hoping to hear Scottish...but it didn't come immediately. Paul Meier starts the book in very easily understood British English. I was let down because I wanted Scottish awesomeness in my ear. I kept listening, adn he set up a situation where you could hear what a Scot would say in certain situations. Awesomeness achieved! I loved hearing the brogue and I also laughed at some of the situations he set up. Excellent and helpful listen!

Nice accent, terrible stories
A little short, not much in the way of dialect coaching, and I could’ve done without the insulting caricature of “exotic south sea tribespeople” which, along some very patriarchal little scenes, feel outdated in the worst ways.

Nothing but an informercial
This is--in effect--an infomercial for the author's more substantial training package--which itself isn't that great either. Here Meier mainly just speaks a variety of Scottish phrases, with very little explanation or teaching. If you want to hear Scottish accents, you can hear them for free on Scottish radio on the internet. If you want to learn to speak with a Scottish accent in a systematic way, it's not going to happen with this short presentation.

This is the worst item I've purchased from Audible. You can learn more about speaking Scottish from listening to Tai Pan.
