A sleeper

Starts out slowly but becomes very engrossing. I was listening in the car and towards the end I almost had to pull over, the tears were obscuring my vision.

The generational stories, and the Portuguese immigrant story. Powerful.

Too sappy and romance-y for my liking. Language too flowery. Book seemed to go on and on.
