Liam Montgomery - 40, rich, cocky, wears a Rolex, likes expensive whiskey, completely out of my league. He was not who I would have chosen to have gone on a blind date with. Just because he was gorgeous didn’t mean he would make a good boyfriend. Plus, he was way too old for me.

That didn’t stop me from flirting with him, though. Or, from spending one very long, exciting night with him. I’m not going to tell anyone about that night. Ironically, it turned out that Liam hadn’t even been my intended date. Oops!

Unfortunately for me, hot mess Emily, the biggest shock of my life was still to come. For, while Liam and I should never have been, he’s not about to leave my life quite that easily. You see, I’m celebrating my dad’s retirement with my folks, and Liam is also there. Only, this time, he’s not alone.

Excellent read

The narrator did an excellent job of pulling the listener in and making them feel like they were a part of the story. I enjoyed listening and now I can’t wait to hear more of these girls stories.

About last night

I enjoyed the story of an older man/younger woman who met during a blind date gone wrong. I liked the fact that there were three friends that always have each other's back, however I felt it got hung up in the minutia of their conversations and needed a little more substance between them. I have read several of the authors books and she spins a good story that keeps me flipping pages, wanting more. I'm cheering her on and looking forward to the next book.

The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.
The narration was utter perfection, it really brought the book to life in a thrilling and passionate way.

Good story

I enjoyed the story. I had already read the book so I wanted to see how the audio book was. I was not a huge fan of the one narrator but overall good story.

Hot and steamy!!

This was a very easy to read book meaning it flowed wonderfully. Very interesting right from the beginning. There were also some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Another thing I liked were the hot and steamy parts and there was plenty!! An overall great read!!

Best blind date ever!

This book has it all! It is hilarious, especially the dialogue during the blind date! Then the story takes twists and turns, many of which are unexpected! It's impossible to put this book down!

Standalone with no cliffhangers. Told from her POV.
Blind date that went crazy not just wrong, but wow the way it turned out was HOT!
Can you ever trust a man that plays by his own rules, can you love him?

This is the second book in the Alpha Boyfriends series about three best friends who meet during freshman year at Columbia University in New York. Charlotte, Emily, and Anabel, all twenty-five now, are young and single in New York City. Book one is Charlotte and Max’s story. Charlotte loses her job when Max Parker’s company buys her company and dissolves it. With an axe to grind against the mysterious Mr. Parker, she doesn’t feel badly when she is mistaken for his girlfriend in a mix-up. She goes along with the error when she sees that it gets her special treatment. Little does she anticipate how quickly rumors spread, and before she knows it Max Parker himself has sent her an angry email. Emily’s story follows here in book two. It is her story with Matteo Fellini. In book three, Anabel’s secret lost love returns when Luca suddenly decides he wants her back.

Emily Finland, twenty-five, hasn’t been with a man in over a year. Her last boyfriend had celebrated their one year anniversary by explaining that he wanted to see other people; she had soured on men since. Netflix and pizza provide her ample company without the heartache these days. But three months ago Charlotte met Max, and Charlotte has it fixed in her mind that Emily must find love, too. She arranges for a blind date for Emily with one of Max’s business partners that is newly single, and Emily reluctantly agrees to go.

When Emily meets her date, she hesitates. He is and older man – albeit a very handsome and charming older man. Liam Montgomery is forty, but despite his age Emily feels an insane connection with him. When he promises to prove to her that older men are better, she gets the courage to let go and enjoy herself for just one night.

When she sees Liam at her parents’ party a week later, though, things don’t add up. Liam goes by the name Matteo Fellini and he wants her to pretend she doesn’t know him. He asks for her trust, but danger seems to follow him.

Matteo and Emily’s story is steeped in steam and suspense. The couple has an immediate connection, but circumstances prevent them from simply enjoying one another’s company. Charlotte and Anabel offer their support throughout, and Anabel in particular warns Emily about Matteo. The couple earns a brief happy ending. Note that an epilogue will be available for download via the author’s newsletter. The next book is Anabel’s, but her story begins here as Matteo and Luca are not strangers.

Matteo and Emily’s story keeps you on your toes until the end! The couple deals with issues of deception, but here the motives are the critical question. Anabel’s backstory trickles out throughout the book, but it ends in a cliffhanger when she comes face to face with Luca. This story is nicely written. There is some repetition in the middle, but the story picks up speed towards the end as the suspense builds. The story is plot-driven. It is written in first person from Emily’s POV. I rate this book four stars.

As for the Audio: it is well-performed and consistent with the review.

I loved this book just as much as I loved the first one in the series!! Can’t wait to read Annabel’s story. I love how Emily and Matteo met. This book had me laughing out loud so many times. So many unexpected twists and turns kept the story fresh and interesting. What a great read!! Love J.S. Cooper one of my favorite authors!!!
