Great Story With Great Characters
This was a wonderful story. If you are a fan of historical romance it is a must read/listen. We follow Megs, who disguises herself as a man and becomes an outlaw to escape her former life. What follows is adventure, romance, intrigue and friendships made, broken and rekindled. All are set in a well-written tapestry of historical England and France, as seen through the eyes of previously sheltered Megs, from the beauty of the English countryside to the opulence of King Louis XIV’s France. I was very engaged with the characters, especially Megs of course, and felt for her as she struggled with her emotions and identity as a woman in not only a man’s world, but also a man’s clothing! I am anxious for the next book in this series!
