The small Arab village of Ascoa, Naseria, is destroyed. Every man, woman, and child is murdered. In a tit-for-tat move, the nearby African village of Latriki, Fazerique, is also destroyed. Then, like a freshly lit string of firecrackers going off, a brutal war explodes.

Master Detective Drake Blast is sent under the cover of being an ambassador for peace. His covert duty is to find something hidden by the prior UN Ambassador shortly before he was murdered. Drake knows the item is significant, but he does not know what it is or why it matters.

His investigation goes nowhere as he is swept into the deepening mystery that surrounds the war. He is reunited with an old friend and investigative reporter, Rabiu Dlamini, who has been told about a mass grave filled with Arab soldiers. The uniforms look real, but Drake and Rabiu are puzzled to discover they are not regulation.

Makena, a beautiful African lady, claims she and her baby are the lone survivors of Latriki and that the enemy soldier who spared their lives is one of the bodies from the mass grave.

Then, Makena and her baby are kidnapped and used as bait to lure Drake into a trap. He tries to rescue her, but they fall into a far larger conspiracy, one that is unimaginable in scope and scale.
