Learn what small things growing up formed the basis of the man.
They say, “to truly know and understand a man, you need to walk a mile in his shoes”. Here is an opportunity to walk in my shoes and get to know me a little.
There have been many autobiographies written by famous people or those who have made some notable contributions, making their stories sought after. I write this not as a famous or prominent person, but as an average lad, for those who are interested to see what my average life has consisted of and to see where I am coming from indeed.
I wish my grandparents had written such a book for me to know them better. In school, I was the worst writer and speller. Now I am writing as a published author.
This book has helped me understand my past and, put all the pieces into perspective, understand how each experience has affected and influenced my life. Getting started was the hardest part. Once I started writing, I became addicted and consumed, I couldn’t stop. It was almost like I needed to see where I came from and where it was taking me.
They say that when you have a near-death experience, your life flashes before you. Writing your own life story is a much more civilized way to get what I assume is the same experience. It is a fascinating journey revisiting one’s own life. Our memories are stored in the mind as little pockets of isolated information. Writing this book has allowed me to consolidate the memories into a logical and chronological order.
