Somehow missed this ended in a cliffhanger

I knew this book was short, but I took that to mean that it was going to be a quick story with InstaLove. I do want to apologize to the author because the length led me to believe that it would also be more erotica than actual story. There's way more to this book than sex. The story itself is fine, it takes a while before the main characters meet one another and once they do it's definitely instalove. I don't know if part of my discontent regarding this book is due to the narrator or something else. I understand that the male lead is supposed to be a sheik and given that, I expected his voice in the audiobook to be different. The narrator does his voice with an American accent even though several other characters are portrayed with mild Arabic accents. It's confusing.

In the later chapters, an unknown villain suddenly arrives causing the cliffhanger ending. I was caught off guard. I'm not sure if I will continue listening to the next book in the series. Cliffhangers are not my jam.

-1 star for sheik's voice because it kept pulling me out of the story.

Perfect Series Start

This story has it all! A touch of heat, a pinch of sweet, a dash of intrigue and a huge helping of sass! Rachel is a strong, confident young woman who knows what she wants. The Sheikh might be resistant to settling down, but his medaling mother knows that Rachel is perfect, so let the game begin! Written with wit and humor, the dialogue shines as great narration moves the story along beautifully. I can’t wait for part two!

Cliffhanger

Rachel cane to terms with her kidnapping rather quickly for such a fiesty young woman. Probably the added incentive of chemistry between her and the sultan was a bonus there. I liked her humanitarian efforts and the sultan's approval of them. Of course, things are going well and the book ends on a low note and a cliffhanger!!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

No that ending

No this book did not end like that I refuse to believe it ends in a cliffhanger 😭. Looking forward to the conclusion of this book.

Interesting

Some don’t like this kind of stories about a dominant men or family that take you away, but i love this kind of love story! Because the chase, the domination but at the same time to be treated like a princess and everything I wish is an order yes I do loved this kind of stories 😍 and this one loved it because the heroin is sassy and don’t limit herself to express how she feels! Loved it

Very Interesting and Sexy

I really enjoyed the distinction of characters throughout the story. I can't imagine falling for my captor.. This story takes you for a ride and then there's a twist. Cant wait to see whats next!

head scratcher

the storyline seemed a bit unrealistic. felt more young adult oriented. no real build to a climax. the narrator was ability to flip between characters was impressive. it kept me engaged, despite this one being outside my general selection.

Good Narrator, Hot Romance

I enjoyed listening to this book overall. The narrator was good, and was accurate for the main character. She didn't seem to be able to do a strong middle eastern accent but I'm glad she stuck with what she could do, so it sounded good overall.

My only issue with this book is that fact that the woman was kidnapped and while she did fight at first, she seemed to come to terms with it more quickly than I might have thought. And while the Sheikh didn't like that she was kidnapped, he didn't seem to fight that too hard either. Their physical attraction made sense and the hot sex scenes were good.

Overall, I liked it.

OMG! Hot, steamy, and sexually astounding.

The characters are stimulating, and the female protagonist, Rachel, is sassy, loving and beautiful. All that came from the description of her which  allowed me to see her in my mind's eye. The Sultan is sexy as all get out.  Again the descriptions were perfect all around. I lol at some scenes and tears welled up in my eyes at others. The plotline was palpable, and building. There was nothing I could pinpoint about the story as dislikable. The characters Rachel was written as a strong woman who looked at the male protagonist as a man like her father...strong and loving. She knew what she wanted and didn't want in a man.  


Although I listened to book two first I am going to listen to it again, especially because where there was no understanding, there is now, and I wish books 1 and 2  could have been written as one book.
