Acerca de esta escucha

ln the intricate dance of societal expectations, fifteen-year-old Elizabeth Bennet becomes an unwitting pawn in her mother's scheme, bound in marriage to a man more than thrice her age.

As the newly minted Lady Fairfax, she finds herself exiled to the tranquil but stifling confines of her husband's Derbyshire estate, her only companionship being that of a governess. Yet amidst the isolation, she encounters Mr. Darcy, the formidable Master of Pemberley, whose aloof demeanor belies a heart yearning for connection.

Despite the gaping disparity in their ages and the insurmountable barrier of Elizabeth's marital status, sparks fly between them. As they navigate the treacherous waters of societal norms and personal desires, they grapple with the question of whether love can transcend such obstacles. Will Mr. Darcy, with his pride and prejudices, be able to recognize and embrace the love that blossoms between him and the vivacious Elizabeth? And should Elizabeth, bound by duty and circumstance, dare to dream of a future with a man who seems forever out of her reach?

New to me author & narrator

New to me author & narrator that I will read / listen to again, The first part is my review from the ebook & then I bought the audio.

This is a new to me author who brings us a story where Mrs Bennet gladly uses compromising situations to get her daughters wed. It doesn't matter if the 15 yr old girls are willing or not as she gets what she wants. Elizabeth is forced to marry a man four times her age. Thankfully, he sent her away immediately to finish growing up with a governess. The isolated and sheltered Elizabeth becomes friends with Darcy and his sister. I love how the people of Meryton react to the Bennet family when they realize the truth of the Bennet parents. Much of this story is sad but worth the read especially at the end when Jane finally says her peace.

For the audiobook this new to me narrator overall did well especially on a young Elizabeth. It did take me a little bit to get accustomed to their voice but that went quicker than it has for other new to me narrators. This was a tough & sad story to listen to but I can see myself listening to it again.
