Long Time Favorite

This book has long been a favorite of mine with the parallel stories housed within. The narrator does a lovely job of capturing each character. I am sure this is only one of the thousand times I will meet such beloved, flawed, amazing characters as I listen again to bring them to life once more.

Bertrice Small introduced me to historical romances and there will never be another like she was.

Suspenseful

Great narration and story. Don’t really enjoy the graphic sex scenes but the story was worth listening to in spite of them.

Loved it! Can never go wrong with any of her material. Miss her dearly.

This has captivated and devastated me. The brilliance of the dual timelines is remarkable. And the lore—the exquisitely poignant and tragic lore—caught me off guard. I was unprepared for the emotional impact; it left me shattered.

A Tad Dated

I was listening thinking boy this sure reminds me of romance novels from the 80s. It wasn't until the end that i realized it was written in 91. Knowing that makes all the rape easier to handle.

Great writer, beautiful story, I want more of this! I want to write like Bertrice Small and I always enjoy reading this particular one! It’s full of time, life and seem to be timeless. Amazing!

An enchanting story!!!

Beatrice tells a believable/wishful story of love & and a couple who are continually reincarnated meeting throughout time! Delicious!

a moment in time review

this is one of my favorite books. I named my daughter after one of the main characters. I even wrote to the author before she passed and she wrote me back! I was so excited! I was a little disappointed in the reading of the story I didn't enjoy the voice of the reader very much and at pivotal moments when there is supposed to be drama and high emotion, it fell flat. this is my first read on audible. I hope it gets better from here
