Excellent narration.., truly delightful.
I joined a “classics” book club and one of our categories was children’s books. I had never read this as a child so I decided to try listening to it as I worked around the house. I absolutely loved the story! Wonderfully written, rich dialogue, mesmerizing characters…I enjoyed it so much. As a retired children’s librarian, I wish contemporary readers would develop an interest in more complex and diverse literature. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if every school had a classic book club?

Enchanting narrative
I listened to this with my mother. The storyteller was grand. The story was very imaginative.. The villainess really got under my skin. Also the heroes looking on Sarah had a bit of a peeping tom feel. Mostly very good, but we like The Secret Garden better.

A wonderful story!
I loved the fanciful nature of this story, especially the happy parts! The author has a way of taking you along on the journey of the extreme ups and downs of a little girl with wonderful imagery.
