Cindy Winters is suddenly left homeless and alone following her father’s sudden accidental death from a cattle stampede. Clinging on to hope, Cindy seeks out a new life as a mail order bride out west in Wyoming.
The town of Cistern sits almost in the shadow of the wild and wonderous mountains of the Wyoming territory. In it, waits the graying and gentle farmer Robert McGinty. After he and Cindy are married, however, Robert’s falls ill and passes shortly after. Now, Cindy has to either abandon her new frontier life or remarry the gruff yet kind ranch hand Michael Alton.
As love begins to bloom between Cindy and Michael, so too do old hurts begin to blister. When Michael learns of how Cindy’s father died and makes a terrible confession, Cindy watches as the happiness she has built from the ground up begins to crumble.
Can Cindy forgive and extend grace to the man who has already stolen her heart? Can Michael come to terms with the terrible accident that has haunted his every step? And, as time begins to run out, will love win out after all?
