All I needed was a date.

Everything about him felt too good to be true. And one thing that I’d learned quickly was never to trust a man who promised he could make your wishes come true, even if it was something as simple as a Christmas wish.

This is a steamy novella that will likely get you banned from the nice list if you listen to it. Intended for mature audiences that like their holiday romance with a little bit of spice.

Jared and Everly

Jared and Everly are the sweetest meet cute ever. She has obviously been stood up and her ex shows up at the same restaurant and begins antagonizing her. Jared spots what is happening and steps in to save her from him. They begin a fake relationship with very real feelings. It becomes very steamy. The narration was really good. My only question was trying to figure out Jared. Unless I missed something, I never got a feel for his actual job and how he would know so much about the club they went to. Otherwise. I really enjoyed the story.

extra spicy Christmas novella

Everly and Jared. Steamy, spicy Christmas story. Everly needs a date for her office Christmas party and has been stood up again and again. Jared overhears her ex, also her boss, picking at her and steps in. What follows is some silly, lots of steamy, and some hiccups along the way.
Jared is the type of hero who goes out of his way to show respect and its so obvious throughout the story. It makes him extra swoony.

I prefer dual narration but this narrator did a pretty good job of distinguishing voices between m/f.

this is a very fun and stay novella. Samantha Baca tackled some difficult issues in a small and steamy package

Perfect fake boyfriend

This was a quick whirlwind romance straight out of a romance novel!! 🤣
Jarrod came in like a white knight to save Everly the embarrassment of telling her ex-boyfriend Tom that she had been stood up by her blind date. He overheard Tom and his girlfriend making fun of Everly when they realized she was alone in the restaurant so Jarrod stepped right in and pretended to be her boyfriend. Ahh this fake boyfriend turned real feelings was such a great novella. I loved how Everly grew stronger and stronger in Jarrod’s presence.

I didn’t care for the narrator’s impersonation of Everly, but all the other voices she did was great.

Spicy Christmas Novella

I really enjoyed this sweet and spicy novella. While Everly and Jared’s relationship starts out fake things get hot during the holiday season! I would recommend this for a quick holiday read with a happy ending!

Extra spicy

This is a quick extra spicy Christmas romance. The Pretend dating a stranger story line is fun!

Jared & Everly

Everly has terrible luck with men, even worse luck with dates! Sitting at a table waiting for her date to arrive, and realizing he’s not going to show. Her Ex spots her and gives her grief about sitting alone, until Jared over hears the conversation and pretends to be her new boyfriend.

Jared couldn’t believe a man could talk to or treat a woman like that. He was going to protect her no matter what. But can he?

Loved the narrator, Mary Jane Meloy.

Short and sweet!

The narration was great! The story was super cute and I loved the underlying message about abusive relationships and the struggle to overcome them even after you leave one. Samantha Baca always comes through with amazing stories. Will definitely look for Mary Jane Meloy narrations in the future.
