the tyrant in gold scene

I dislike that it felt so short from the previous books and I love the entire scene but needed more of corin to Corinth moment.

keeps you wrapped up

the whole series is great, but this book keeps you guessing. some super sad points as depression hits, but it winds back upward

Absolute cinema

Yet another masterpiece from the best author in the world. this man doesn’t just write a story, he crafts worlds and sprinkles their greatest moments, their lore, their legends into your brain and imagination. 10/10

This was almost a 3 star read.
I won't lie, I love Andrew Rowe. love this series. but Korin... well he can blabber on, and that has been a detaracting peice of the last two books. like knowing the world building and how things work, but sometimes the details gets too much.
So the last 5 hours did save this. But I feel it should have to go through nearly 10 hours of exposition to get progression.

Heres hoping the next book can mitigate this.

Love the story and the performance. Much growth from characters. Although I fear I may need some kind of pdf on characters and different powers

Love the cadence

A return to the cadence trickery, I have loved everything by Rowe ( putting aside the edge of series for young adults) the spire books are by far the best. I look forward to more of this series and I hope we get more crystal awakening books as well. What an awesome escape and adventure this work has been.

the multiple interludes

What I liked that the suspense that didn't keep me wondering for too long, and the POV of many other characters was a fresh take.

Short but good

More time seems to pass in this book than the previous and there is a big setup for the next book in this series. This isn't just a filler novel, just as good as the others! Well read and written!

I love this series! Great next addition. I only hope book 7 comes out quickly. I also appreciate the recap at the beginning.

same as the last book

The story did not really evolve that far into this book. That being said it is the shortest book of the series so far. I like these books because they're typically longer and so I took a risk of getting a short one and the shorter one definitely under sold. without giving away much of the story, I'm going to say a good half of the book was korin in the same place doing the same thing doing the same stuff. I still really like the series and it's typically while written and extremely well performed by Nick. But this one definitely undershot.
