Acerca de esta escucha

This book is designed for both the normal tourist visiting Seoul, Korea, and the American military person serving in Korea. The book will provide the perspectives of a Korean native and a US soldier/traveler. The focus is to learn and enjoy the cross cultural experience of your travel. The goal is to get you off the beaten path, but include the best destinations. Korea has a very low violent crime rate and it is safe. Recommendations will be made, pictures will be provided, and translated cards can be printed to be shown to the taxi driver in Korean/Hangul and English. Web links will be inserted for your use later and some great appendixes of travel tools will be provided. The book and pictures will get you to the location you desire and help you order the food without error. The book’s main body will be written by both Dr. Anna H. Lint and James R. Lint (JRL). After each main area/concept or location, Dr. Anna HyonJoo Lint will make her comments from her perspective. We have also invited contributors to give input and they are listed below. We also asked them to provide a small biography to allow the reader to understand their point of view/perspective. The book should provide multiple views of the same parts of the trip. (Many guys will understand the concept of wives giving their view, which may be 180 degrees different!) This will allow all readers to be able to relate to a point of view, but also explore other views. This book is written after our last visit in October 2015. The last part will be a virtual or e-travel to Korea via pictures and the written word. This is also great for people who want to see and learn more before arriving. Since we all have electronic devices, you may take this book with you and view the pictures to determine the next areas to visit. No payments were made to us for the recommendations. It is our joy of sharing a country we have experienced over a few decades. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to charity. About the Authors This book is by two authors who have different perspectives from living and serving in Korea. One traveled with multiple tours of duty from 1987 to 2015, (2 military active duty tours plus 5 years of civilian service). The other is a native of Korea with a Master’s Degree in Korea, and a Master’s and PhD in USA. Both currently are professors in USA, and semi-retired living in Las Vegas, USA. (Third book will be a travel book of Las Vegas.) Some of the different views seen by the authors The dynamics of being a soldier and civilian in Korea for seven years scattered over a 28-year period were interesting and that is something unique we bring out in this book. Life is seen differently from the where you are standing. Dr. Anna, growing up and was living in Korea for 40 years sees Korea differently than I do, just as she has seen USA differently. These are some of the dynamics we bring to sharing a view of Korea that may be different. This book will have a perspective of Korea from a former GI who watched Korea from 1987 to 2015, both professionally and for personal reasons. I starting this journey as a military Counterintelligence Special Agent which gave me an understanding of the political and international scene in Korea. My job afforded me the opportunity to meet and visit with many senior Korean officials who would talk both on the record and off the record. Most wanted to help Americans understand their country and history while also understanding the serious threat from North Korea. I have lived on US Army Garrison Yongsan in 1987-88, but lived off post in Yongsan-Gu during my 1996-97 tour. Additionally, I was employed with US Civil Service from January 2000 to August 2004, again at US Army Garrison Yongsan. The times changed is a slogan. In Korea they really do. Asia Militar
