Over many years the human race has been fascinated with the subject of "Angels". Just the week of writing this book the radio in the restaurant was playing the song "I Believe in Angels". Whilst it is the wrong chorus, since we are not told to believe in angels but in God, it shows the quest of man to unravel the mystery surrounding the subject.
Again an advertising campaign about body spray depicts the appearance of a female angel. Another erroneous depiction of these created beings. Just for the record, when angels appear in the Bible they are male and not females. The only close female angelic being was a demon described in the Book of Zechariah, so we can safely say all angels are male in appearance.
Finally on the subject of wrong depiction: Angels are not little people like the cupids you see during the Valentine's season. Angels are mighty beings. In the Book of Isaiah one angel was responsible for killing 185,000 soldiers.
Now that we have dispelled some of these unbiblical myths we can focus on the some of the facts about angels.
Angels are there to serve those who are Born Again. One of the primary ways this happens is when the Believer speaks the words of God; angels of God carry them out. Angels are sent by God to defend and deliver the Believer, too.
I have put together some scriptures that will not only provide a better Biblical understanding but help understand how angels can serve you!
