We were in a meeting recently where somebody asked whether it was appropriate for a woman to set about being married in a particular year. This erupted into a huge debate.
There was a lot of back and forth amongst the women and the men at that meeting but in the end, the women agreed that it could be good for a man to set a goal to be married in a particular year because he was the one to ask the woman for marriage. They also equally agreed that for a woman to set a goal about being married in a particular year without specifically hearing from God about it could be suicidal. They agreed that setting such a goal would put her in a position of being desperate.
That was exactly my view. I love when Born-again believers debate particular points of view with scripture; sooner or later they will all reach the same conclusion, because they are led by the Holy Spirit. This reminds me of Acts 15 where James said it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us!
The question still remains in many people's heart - “what should a woman do whilst waiting to be married?” My answer is; get ready to be married, prepare to be married, let God prepare you to be married.
As you set your heart to be married one, thing you can absolutely do is to pray.
