Not the best I've heard

These short stories were average at best. Didn't find them particulary scary nor gripping. With most of the stories the outcome was fairly obvious from the beginning, this is really off putting. In addition the narrator was poor in my opinion.He just didn't fit with the stories.

What did you like best about 13 Nightmares? What did you like least?

I like the originality of the stories they were interesting, but not scary. Also some of the endings were predictable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can't recall names, but I will say that the stories got better as they went along.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I don't think he was good for the horror genre, he didn't let you know the story was finished. Not many changes in the voice, or if he changed his voice to show a new character talking, he sometimes wouldn't revert back to the voice when that character was talking, like in that cockroach story.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Only if there was a MST3K Version

I give the author a lot of credit, writing short stories with different twist is not incredibly easy.

This book was really scary but I still could not stop listening! Narrator did a great job playing each short story and character! Overall great book and listen!

Very good stories. Really creepy at times. Other times the stories were very suspenseful..Looking forward to hearing more.

Pulse pounding original horror.

The stories come to life one by one.

8 of the 13 were great.

Mr Beasley, Auntie Marge,
Krissy, Private Tessman,
Catfish Joe just a few of the colorful characters in this book.

It's ok.

The stories were okay, I could forsee the ending from the start of almost every one of them. I didn't like the murderer main characters, didn't feel glad about the badguys getting away with thier shenanigans. Either way, good or bad prevailing didn't worry me too much as the stories didn't seem to cast that spell of "believing." They are quick, and interesting like Goosebumps with swearing, (even though hearing this reader swear is like hearing a child swear, drawing unwanted attention to each curse word, breeding brainstorms, and interrupting my listening session) and some okay gore. A good one to listen to with your fifteen year old(s), while sitting around the campfire. The stories get you listening to the end.

Awesome short stories!

I love the horror genre and especially short stories. I loved that the title had a bunch of different kind of horror and se unexpected endings!!

Couldn't stop listening...

I thought this book was thrilling, suspenseful, vivid and it reminded me of the Twilight Zone. The voice of the voice actor really brought the stories to life. I would definitely want to get an audiobook again from this author.
