This AudioBook Is Fun!

Second I've listened to with the grandkids from this author. In this era of video games and IPads, it's hard garnering kids' attention. But any inquisitive youngster should love learning this way. Great for grownups as well, and the perfect companion for a family on a long road trip! Good stuff. Gets everyone talking and thinking AND realizing they just became a bit smarter.

Very Animated

This book is great for children to gain more knowledge and facts about airplanes and it also is very animated and the background music and sounds are amazing. Me and my son really enjoyed listening to this together.

This audiobook delivered 101% of awesome airplane facts! The facts fly by fast and furious, keeping listeners of all ages entertained and educated. I learned so much that I never knew about different parts of planes, aviation history and inventors, crazy records set by aircraft, and the science behind how things fly. The author made learning about planes an absolute joy ride with humor, great narration, and plenty of amazing trivia. The perfect audiobook for any kid with their head in the clouds. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Fun, Exciting and Well-Presented!

DW Gannett has hit a home run with this and his other books in the series. The production value is out of sight with music and sound effects of airplanes and engines swooping through the air. The writing is top-notch, and the narration is very well done. I'm an airplane freak, so I loved it, but kids (and grown-ups) of all interests will really dig this audiobook and the others in this series by the author. Do yourself and your kids a favor and listen to this audiobook. You'll be glad you did. I am.

Fun and Engaging

The fun facts in this book are laid out as engaging stories that really suck you in. That is 100% the BEST way to teach material to anybody —kids and adults alike. The author also teaches poems as memory devices to help facts stick.

The book starts out describing physics principles that get broken down and explained, and if you're still lost (like me) the author takes you through very simple and very cool experiments kids (and adults that can't wrap their head around physics concepts like me, ha!) can replicate at home.

The book takes you through the history of human's obsession with flying, from Icarus, Leonardo Da Vinci, the Wright brothers, war planes, the Red Baron, Charles Lindbergh and his transatlantic journey, Bessie Coleman, Amelia Earhart and women pioneers, and how aviation evolved throughout the years to today including airliners breaking the sound barrier, the SR71 that flew from LA to DC in 1 hour, and so much more.

Did you know that Amelia Earhart was an entrepreneur? Neither did I. She came out with a clothing line (and modeled it) for functional but feminine clothing, AND she came out with a line of lightweight bags and suitcases (since she flew she knew the importance of lightweight luggage). So cool!

An excellent listen

Who knew there was so much to know about airplanes! I loved all the history, especially about women’s role in early aviation. Amelia Aerhart is far from the only woman who deserves attention as an incredible pilot, Harriet Quimby also had a fascinating history as an early pilot (1911!). World War II was also a remarkable period of time when it came to rapid changes in the design of early fighter planes. I'm a major history fan, but this book covers past all the way to present - modern plane technology is not neglected and just as interesting.

I've read books that advertise "facts" about a topic before, but have been disappointed when it's just a long list of mindless sentences that could have all been copy and pasted from wikipedia. That is NOT what this book is like. This is told in a far more engaging story-like format that kids but also adults can enjoy.

The author is really knowledgeable, and the narration is very well done. I never thought I would be the type of person who would want to go to the Air and Space Museum, but next chance I get I'll be there. recommend to anyone!

Informative

I didn`t even know I would learn much from this book. Understanding the different parts of the plane and their functions was very intriguing. This book is well narrated and easy to understand while technical at the same time. Do you know that each time when wars needed to be fought the US had to build a new plane such as a safer flight jet with a soundproof barrel, that fly faster and land with lesser impact? Jets caught the human imagination throughout the 1950s. Children's toys and jets were also used as a form of entertainment. Great read!

Engaging for kids and adults!

What a wonderful aerial adventure through history! This audiobook is filled with interesting facts and stories about aviation and the men and women who has served us. We enjoyed the sound effects and music which was engaging. This book is perfect for family road trips. After listening to this, my grandson wants to fly jets!

Listening to all 101 facts would be a great way to pass the time on a family road trip, or in small chunks throughout the week while in the car. Excellent gift idea for children or families.

I loved the memory trick for learning Bernoulli's principle in a way it would probably be impossible to forget!
