寿永三年正月一日、院の御所は大膳大夫業忠が宿所、六条西洞院なれば 御所のていしかるべからずとて、礼儀おこなはるべきにあらねば、拝礼もなし。（巻第九・生ずきの沙汰）
巻第九 収録内容
01 生ずきの沙汰
平家追討の軍を発しようとしていた。
02 宇治川先陣
義経軍と義仲軍が対戦する。
03 河原合戦
木曽義仲は敗れた。
04 木曾最期
木曽義仲は今井四郎と行き会う。
05 樋口被討罰
今井の兄・樋口兼光は、児玉党に降伏する。
06 六ヶ度軍
平家が福原に渡ると、反乱が起こる。
07 三草勢揃
範頼・義経の軍は平家追討のため出発した。
08 三草合戦
平家側は資盛・師盛等が三草山に陣取っていた。
09 老馬
教経に一万余騎をつけて、防戦する。
10 一二之懸
搦手軍の熊谷直実・小次郎父子が、一の谷の先陣を争う。
11 二度之懸
河原太郎・次郎兄弟が先陣を飾るも討死する。
12 坂落
義経は、一の谷後方の鵯越に到着する。
13 越中前司最期
平家の越中前司盛俊は猪俣小平六と戦う。
14 忠度最期
平家のは、岡部六野太と組み討ちとなる。
15 重衡生捕
平重衡は落ちてゆくところを、梶原景季に馬を射られる。
16 敦盛最期
平敦盛は、逃げ落ちるところを熊谷直実に呼び返され、組み伏せられる。
17 知章最期
平家の武将は数多く討たれた。
18 落足
平師盛も通盛もそれぞれ討たれた。
19 小宰相身投
北の方・小宰相は悲しみに暮れた。
