Hilarity at its finest

Wilde's wit and Stephen Fry's delivery are unbeatable. Have read this play many times and enjoyed the movie as well. This adaptation is excellent!

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Quirky rom-com. Follows some familiar and comfortable patterns to give you exactly what you are looking for from a romantic comedy.

Historia
In this definitive biography of one of Hollywood's most beloved stars, Michael Munn reveals the truth behind the diffident, earnest and kindly persona of Jimmy Stewart. Drawn from the author's formal interviews and informal meetings with the star and his friendship with Stewart's wife, Gloria, is this portrait of a man who came from the Presbyterian traditions of Pennsylvania to become one of the silver screen's enduring legends.

Michael Munn was either delusional or a liar
Revisado: 02-15-23
I love Jimmy Stewart and was excited to listen to a biography.
The writing is stilted and very repetitive, and within a couple chapters I became convinced the author cobbled the book together from a collection of magazine and tv interviews, then glued it all together with huge amounts of self agrandizement. He included a variety of personal revelations Stewart and his wife never told anyone else, that sound completely ludicrous.
I stopped the book and went to research the author, finding several articles about how this is a pattern in all his books, with the subjects and confidants all being conveniently dead.
The author's own family apparently does not believe he had these deep, personal relationships with all the celebrities he has claimed to be so close to. Honestly, I hate that this book, and Michael Munn's others, are out there for people to read and not know how much of it is all lies.

Historia
In the dark, wintry highlands of Lochdubh, Scotland, where the local Calvinist element resists the secular trimmings of Christmas, the spirit of old Saint Nick is about as welcome as a flat tire on a deserted road. Nor is crime taking a holiday, as Constable Hamish Macbeth soon finds himself protecting an unhappy girl, unlocking the secrets of a frightened old woman, and retrieving some stolen holiday goods. Now the lanky lawman must use all his Highland charm and detective skills to make things right.
