it has potential. the couple are obtuse with regards to their interaction with each other. combative and aside from the "spark" when touching, I don't see where the attraction comes from.
no chemistry

something is missing.......
narration is matter of fact sounding,
no spark.

the first is tough to beat

I enjoy the author and her previous books. the first of this series was better. London is the main character, her acceptance of being tossed aside Is a bit too much even if in her rational mind she understands.
so far my least favorite book by michelle Valentine.

So incredibly impressed of a smartly written storyline of the over 50 world. Realistic in many ways including to the loss of muscle yet the love was still there , but better, mature, not taking it for granted.

Bowie and Genny torn apart by a lie for 28 years buildjng lives separately and living those years all in, until life finds them both single, and the lie uncovered .

over 50 is not over life. it is when you see what really is important and realize that there is a choice of how to live.

potential but..

story premise is good but the characters are insecure as much so to that it is unrealistic to believe their insecurities will end with marriage.
Good stories have conflict but these group if friends don't see the similarities of their issues. makes zero sense.

it has promise. it is well written.
if you like insecure characters that are constantly misinterpretting sutuations always apologizing and crying. this is the book for you.

Narrators was the reason I tried this series. the first book was the same. thought I too would be different ifor this couple.

Heartwarming touching, real

Unexpected beautifully told story of a women's insecurities of being different, not "normal." How her anxiety is because of her awareness of how she is different and not acting what others perceive as acceptable. Social cues are missed. What you see is a women who is self sufficient, wildly aware of her quirks and analyzes everything so she doesn't misstep who just wants a connection, someone who is truly interested in her. So she seeks out someone who she believes can help her with the touching aspect first.
Side note. Bravo to her mom for her support and understanding of her daughter who wants her daughter's happiness but not for her to change who she is to obtain that happiness.
One to read/ listen to again.
Carly Robins as the narrator was perfect. She can make your eyes blurry with tears even those anti Hallmark souls.

narrators are fabulous! Sebastian York's cameo was fun.
Lauren wrote an amazing story that was wonderfully NORMAL. drama and angst was what most people feel. fear of love, fear of getting hurt, etc

secondary supporting characters i.e. the besties were true best friends and supportive family.

Prince Gril Tal Mod  introduced in the first Lord's of Kassis book. He is a strong good kind but firm leader and that was clear from the start. We "met" his vivacious, strong but sweet and impish mate Madras in the same book. clearly those two had love, respect, and that certain something that connection two beings that is beautiful to witness. to experience their beginning and get to know these aliens that are physically not like humans but have the same spirit is a testiment of how talented the writer is. connecting with these two AND especially L'eon made another day of quarantine as if I went on mini holiday.
if you like or love this series. this book is worth it.

i would have a 14 year old listen/read this.
I believe that is the audience for this genre.

overall good listen

maybe a bit of a spoiler alert

story touched on issues we have experienced. doubt , heartache, addiction ( in recovery) self worth.


it started strong and even with the addition sadness it was inspiring.

Flinn is a good man stood up at his wedding who finds himself with a cat he bought for his ex and nowhere he can stay with the cat. so he spends two weeks with his friends sister. they become friends nothing happens but feelings

here is the thing. this is where I start to lose interest. Flinn becomes... lost when he loses Adele. ( the friend)

Adele being a recovering addict didn't educate him or explain anything. if you are that far along and able to be in social situations, teachings the language and giving pointers to a friend who you know just doesn't makes sense.
part of recovery is taking responsibility of your actions. Adele did not. as far as I could tell there were not any intermittent AA meetings. AA is not just about the addiction, it is about the behavior.

the writing was done well
performance excellent

think this is a good story, it lost the plot.

Glimpses of the Queen from her grandchildren's POV throughout their stories we saw how sometimes quirky she was. with her ever present staff, Butler, security team. with her own story the queen grew up very isolated and without a friend who just saw her , aside from her sister.
we see in the previous books where her grandchildren's names derived from as well as their strong personalities.
As the Queen it seems very fitting that her story was the best. yet looking back, I feel like it was a series about her and Edward.
loved it. Read series in the order it was published., it really made the series better.
