Historia
He’s beautiful. Calculating. Cruel. And he’s taken me hostage. When pirates board my boyfriend’s yacht, I jump overboard to save myself. Drifting at sea. Until one man rescues me from the endless ocean. Except he has plans of his own. I’m worth too much money for ransom. He’ll keep me on his ship and in his bed. The real danger lies in his dark-depth eyes. He wants more from me than money. Than passion. He wants everything. He rescued me, but I’m far from safe. There’s an entire sea of danger threatening to drag me under.

Rich Instagram model who falls for bad guy and instead of running from him (because she really should) she stays. this isn't a cat and mouse Story. it's just meh.. we spend most of the book in her head hearing her say how she needs to run from this man and how she really cannot stand him.
bad guy is a basic bad guy who tried to be morally grey but falls very short. POSiden is very much a copy paste book boyfriend. he wasn't fun or an anti-hero. he kept her captive for money, and occasionally talks about her t*ts and a**. that's it. that's the spice summed up.
Plot wasn't great. it could've been. it had moments where I was interested then it quickly lost me again. it's not a great book. not even a good book. I'd say it's a easy 4 hours if you just need background sound.

Not worth the hype
Revisado: 02-22-24
The VA sounds older than Feyra is written to be. aside from that the performance fell flat and almost monotone.
The plot is lack luster. Maybe it's just me, but this book wasn't worth the hype. Compared to Throne of Glass and Crecent City this series left me bored. It's slow to start and slower to finish. Feyra complained chapter after chapter and honestly if I had to hear about her "watery bowels" one more time... and for some reason she falls in love with Tamlin after literally knowing him all of a few weeks..or months idk. it was boring, rushed, forced and annoying.
Tamlin was bland. he wasn't bad. he was there and that was enough to make feyra complain the whole time. it got old. dude fed her food and she complained. he gave her clothes - she complained. told her she could literally live where ever..complained.
Rhysand was..he was in the story, sure - but he offered zero reason. other than he was a bad guy for a few chapters. I don't get why people are in love with him. he hardly did anything noticeable.
I was begging for the last two hours to be over with. I didn't want to DNF another book this year.

Historia
I loathe Alastor Shaw. The city of San Francisco thinks we’re rival artists. In truth, we’re predators battling for hunting ground. We never chased the same prey. Until the night we both laid eyes on Mara Eldritch. Shaw wants to use her as a pawn in his twisted game. I’m fixated on her for a different reason.

VA is okay. Story is cringe.
Revisado: 08-29-23
Went into this book completely blind. I saw all the hype given, and thought I'd give it a chance. The VA is just okay. I'm not a fan when the pov VA does both. listening to them pitch their voice pulled me out of the story. the story was promised to be dark and spicy - it wasn't. the female lead was annoying and somehow came to conclusions like she was let in on the plot of the book. male lead is supposed to be an emotionless killer...he maybe killed one person and thats it. his story could've been so much better if they gave it more thought. instead we get a story of how amazing and complex the girl is without even trying. it's not a balanced story at all and what would've been more interesting was pushed to the side. the spice bits were so quick and tame in comparison to what the hype was.

Yeah, I’m the one they talk about. The headmaster’s prized possession, locked away in the bell tower of Notredame Parochial College. To most of the students, I was just a myth. An urban legend. The girl who rings the bells up in the tower, the one who talks to gargoyles.

Great Smut. Horrible VA.
Revisado: 08-07-23
I enjoyed the story for what it was. Good dark love-hate smut. However the VA is so hard to get through for me. The male voice sounds so forced and sometimes is so raspy to the point it sounds muddy. It's been a struggle listening to. Reading was much easier.
