Historia
Alina Carson meets Chase Adams when she’s eleven years old, after he moves in down the street carrying nothing but a chip on his shoulder and dimples in his cheeks. Immediately she falls, loving him before she even knows what loving is. But becoming best friends with Chase’s little sister means that he’s off-limits, no matter how much their connection screams for something more.

Historia
Lucy is sick of turning the other cheek. Ten years ago, an anti-Mormon mob drove her family and friends from their homes in Illinois. But now, the tables have turned. Rumor has it, some of those same men are traveling through Utah on their way to California. And this time, Lucy won’t run. Katrina knew the trek west would be difficult. But she had no idea she’d be walking straight into hell. The young mother of four is prepared to do whatever it takes to protect her family from the violence closing in, but the battle to survive will be more harrowing than anything she can imagine.

Wow

Historical fiction is not a genre I am drawn to. i love Noelle W. Ihli so I set out to read this based on that alone. While this book did not feel like the other thrillers by Ihli, it is a captivating story that I feel is deeply important for all Americans to read about and know about. I am from Idaho where there is a huge LDS presence. But I have never heard of the Mountain Meadow Massacre. I know of BYU. But I did not know the brutality of Brigham Young. So many levels of which I am appalled at humanity from this story. I will see things differently going forward. I am grateful for Noelle's hardwork and dedication to this story and these people. Please take the time to read this book.
