Historia
In the summer of 1990, Eddie Vedder left the surf and sun in San Diego to join a group of friends working to put a new band together in the Seattle underground. Within months, they were anything but underground; they’d found their lead singer, and Vedder went on to lead Pearl Jam on a global takeover of ‘90s culture. In this latest edition of Audible’s Words + Music series, Vedder dives deep, reflecting on a life at the intersection of art, sensitivity, and masculinity.

Historia
Fusing Keatsian mists and mellow fruitfulness with the vitality, the immediacy, and the color hit of Pop Art, Autumn is a witty excavation of the present by the past. The novel is a stripped-branches take on popular culture and a meditation, in a world growing ever more bordered and exclusive, on what richness and worth are, what harvest means.

Don’t know...
Revisado: 06-11-19
I liked parts of this book! But it was quite disturbing for someone who isn’t disturbed much. Also I think that ultimately it supports rape culture and pro life drivel. It acts like that’s not what is happening, and yesterday, there it blatantly is. Disturbing.

A romp
Revisado: 08-13-18
The Berrybender novels are all a wonderful romp in the West. There is so much to entertain and intrigue the mind that it’s almost too much to bare. I love them all.

Best of the bunch
Revisado: 08-06-18
It’s hard for me to review this series because I love it so much. Some are better than other, to be sure, but in between their publications I find myself pining to be in the company of Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi again. To me, this book, is the epitome of their love and relationship.

Sexist Religious Claptrap
Revisado: 11-06-16
Its questionable that it's even good for gay black men, but for sure the rest is sexist and way to religious for me! Come on, 7 perfect sons and a stupid husband and the mother is the witch that has to die a horrible death? The only reason her sons were perfect was because they had a great mom who the author vilified.
Plus, the writing is very bad and in consistent...the best friend is horrible to Paul and then for no reason nice to him the next day. The mom hates the voices in her head and then when they stopped she wanted them back and then when they appeared again it was like they never felt. Frankly I'm surprised I made it through the last hour.
And plus, I'll bet the author is just shocked that anyone would consider his privileged ass to be a sexist!! Pitiful!!!!

Historia
What happened to Jacques Gaillard? The brilliant teacher at the École Nationale d’Administration, who trained some of France’s best and brightest as future prime ministers and presidents, vanished ten years ago, presumably from Paris. This ten-year-old mystery inspires a bet—one that Enzo Macleod, a biologist teaching in Toulouse, France, instead of pursuing a brilliant career in forensics back home in Scotland, can ill afford to lose.

Historia
When an intricate old map is found stuffed into the walls of the bistro in Three Pines, it at first seems no more than a curiosity. But the closer the villagers look, the stranger it becomes. Given to Armand Gamache as a gift the first day of his new job, the map eventually leads him to shattering secrets. To an old friend and older adversary. It leads the former Chief of Homicide for the Sûreté du Québec to places even he is afraid to go. But must. And there he finds four young cadets in the Sûreté academy, and a dead professor. And, with the body, a copy of the old, odd map.

Love!
Revisado: 09-15-16
I devoured this gem in two days. I love Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache novels and this was one of her best. All of the wonderful Three Pines characters were involved and I like them so much I think I'll start from the beginning and listen to the whole series all over again. I know that Robert Bathurst has not been rated as favorably as the much loved and recently deceased Ralph Cosham, but I disagree. I think Bathurst is doing a great job!! Are there weaknesses in the story and the writing? Yes, but who cares!! It was great to be back in the loving arms of Three Pines again.
