Historia
Meggie Meyer, an anxiety-ridden debut author, can’t bear to face her upcoming book tour, but she can’t give up on her writing career just as it’s about to really begin. She comes up with a plan that’s so crazy, it just might work: She hires an actress to impersonate her for the two-week stint. Sloan Buchanan, the spunky aspiring actress, jumps at the opportunity to use her intensive acting method to sink into this unusual role, and the line between her and her character quickly begins to blur. And Rachel Drake, the no-nonsense detective, is left to put the pieces together.

Will keep you on the edge of your seat

An excellent and daring read, recommended to me by the author’s sister, and it was certainly worth every attentive second I dedicated to it. The story’s timeline was compelling, and the ending was truly jaw-dropping. Wonderful character development, and each one was so multidimensional. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Historia
King has tenderly staked out a territory for his wife and three daughters, Grace, Lia, and Sky. He has lain the barbed wire; he has anchored the buoys in the water; he has marked out a clear message: Do not enter. Or viewed from another angle: Not safe to leave. Here women are protected from the chaos and violence of men on the mainland. The cult-like rituals and therapies they endure fortify them from the spreading toxicity of a degrading world. But when their father, the only man they've ever seen, disappears, they retreat further inward until the day two men and a boy wash ashore.

What.
Revisado: 04-05-19
I could not follow the story hardly at all. Maybe there were some metaphors I was not understanding, but this completely fell flat. Was hoping for so much more after a recommendation by Margaret Atwood. The performance was OK, but is it just me or did the pronunciation of the second man’s name get mixed up? Was it Zhao or Lou? I have no idea

Historia
Zack Lightman has never much cared for reality. He vastly prefers the countless science-fiction movies, books, and videogames he's spent his life consuming. And too often, he catches himself wishing that some fantastic, impossible, world-altering event could arrive to whisk him off on a grand spacefaring adventure.

Will Wheaton needs British accent lessons
Revisado: 08-18-18
I chose to download this book because Ready Player One was such a great play. I especially liked Will Wheaton’s portrayal of the characters in that one. This story, however, just seems like a nerd’s wet dream - creating a fantasy sci-fi epic, while skipping over all the details, much like how a dream might play out. In fact, I found myself wondering when the main character would wake up in a mental institution. Every step of the way seemed unrealistic, from the psychology and behavior of the characters, to the unexplained technological advances portrayed. And of course, Will Wheaton’s British accent is so cringeworthy. Then, the ending of the story barely saves face as it teaches us about our humanity from an outside perspective, however it also neglects some key facets of what it means to be human. I just barely liked this book enough to give it 3 stars, but would never read it again.
