Brilliant narration and intriguing story

A very sad story, with Characters well developed and a skilled narrator. Mystery solved satisfactorily and loose ends tied up. Birds flew free at the end!

Wonderful story but a little too much Philosophy

I adore T H White's writing, with his anachronisms and his glorious descriptions of his beloved England. The Candle in the Wind is the wonderful story of the only too human Guinevere, Lancelot and Arthur, but the Book of Merlyn is a discussion of the state of the world, as it was written just before and during the second World War, with the terrifying rise of the Nazis. If you can last through the philosophising, you will feel deep empathy for gentle, loving Arthur as he nears the end of his amazing life. Beautifully narrated.

I found this collection of stories really fascinating and yes, 11 year old grandson gave it the seal of approval as well. Good narration.

Gripping story with unexpected twists

The "Hero" keeps his cards very close to his chest, which can be a bit annoying, as it certainly drags the story on, but overall, this is a well-narrated story with interesting twists. Helps if you are interested in helicopters!

Grandson loves these stories

He has listened to these stories so many times that he can recite them by heart. He is an 11 year old, massively keen on mythology - Percy Jackson is a modern day Hero and his adventures are joy to a young man's heart!

A gripping true story

We listened to this on a long journey - it is the story of a long and ill-starred journey. The inevitability of the tragedy that befell these pioneering families is painful. It emphasised for me the huge risks taken by our pioneering families in the opening up of our countries.

If you love TP, you will thoroughly enjoy this rendition of The Last Continent. As Aussies, we doubly appreciate TP's salute to Vegemite and Waltzing Matilda, and smile wryly at Nigel Planer's attempts at an Aussie accent. Cheers Mate.
