Just had to have a gay guy.
Revisado: 01-20-24
I guess I’m just sick of the agenda where you have to insert a homosexual into a story or movie. What a bunch of crap. The story was pretty good but I am done. Did you really have to have a gay character? Geez.

What happens when a man of today's overconnected world sets off alone across the Pacific at the age of 71? Christian Williams, a veteran sailor and writer, planned a 6,000-mile voyage as a test of his own seamanship and endurance, and to fulfill a lifelong goal. Historia
Introduction to Sailing is veteran sailor Christian Williams’ candid and highly entertaining invitation to boats and the sea. Writing for new sailors of every kind, he evokes the joy of wind and water in an intimate style that begins with dinghies, which he advocates as most fun of all, and continues through cruising boats small and large and for every budget.

Love this guy!
Revisado: 09-16-22
This guy has a great knack for storytelling and narration. If you’re looking to become a sailor, or just want to learn more about sailing, this is a great audiobook. He has other books as well and some really cool YouTube videos. Thank you for putting this all together Captain. I’ve learned a lot from you sir!

Historia
Michael Cosgrove had a beautiful family, a successful career, and a lovely Southern California home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. At the age sixty, he decided to leave that all behind to sail around the world. In spite of his romanticized vision of rugged individualism and salty tales to share with his grandchildren, Cosgrove quickly realizes that sailing around the world isn’t going to be as easy as he’d imagined.

Well done
Revisado: 02-05-19
I really enjoyed both the story and the narration. I love sailing and this book did a fine job explaining some of the details relating to sailing and the emotion associated with crossings and being alone.

Too bad
Revisado: 08-12-18
Great story. It’s just a shame that the author had to create the idea that Sir Lipton May have been gay with no real evidence to support the notion. Even if he was, why taint his reputation? What difference, other than promoting homosexuality, would it make?
Homosexuality, albeit wrong regardless of era, was a very serious offense during Lipton’s time therefore I feel that the author’s opinion could and should have been omitted.
