Historia
Written in the ancient language of Sanskrit, the Bhagavad-Gita is a compelling epic poem that holds within it all of the answers to the questions that have baffled humankind since the beginning of time, and will continue to do so well into the future. Through powerful interpretation, storytelling, and the personal insights that he has experienced throughout his own life, Steven sheds great light on the many layers of teachings that are presented in this short yet sometimes perplexing text.

Not at all what I expected
Revisado: 11-18-19
I applaud the author for trying to bridge Eastern and Western thought, but the book seems to be focused a bit too much on Christianity and A Course in Miracles, almost to the point of being a fanatic of the latter.

These stories are an extra peek at Auggie before he started at Beecher Prep and during his first year there. Listeners get to see him through the eyes of Julian, the bully; Christopher, Auggie's oldest friend; and Charlotte, Auggie's new friend at school. Together, these three stories are a treasure for listeners who don't want to leave Auggie behind when they finish Wonder.

Awful!
Revisado: 09-13-19
Sadly, this follow up book misses some of the magic of the original. I feel the narrators don’t do the material justice, especially the second narrator who sounds as if he really doesn’t want to read the story.

Historia
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Whoaaaaa!!!!!! This is great!!!!
Revisado: 06-08-18
This is the first fiction book I actually enjoyed on audible and I believe it has a lot to do with the narration. Julia Whelan is really good at her craft, devising voices for all of her characters that actually sound authentic. I loved how the story kept getting creepier and weirder and made me go "Whoaaaa!!!" every time a new major development was revealed. I really enjoyed the candid interview with the authors at the end. I will definitely look into more audiobooks by this great narrator as well as these authors!

Most of us have heard of gluten - a protein found in wheat that causes widespread inflammation in the body. Americans spend billions of dollars on gluten-free diets in an effort to protect their health. But what if we've been missing the root of the problem?

What the heck????
Revisado: 03-30-18
This narrator has one of the most annoying voices ever. He sounds like a bad computer program. I struggled to stay awake listening to this man. Please redo this audiobook. You will gain so many more listeners if you do so.

Historia
Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

Raw and real!
Revisado: 01-15-18
Where does The Last Black Unicorn rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Far funnier than other comedians I've listened to. I won't mention any names, but Tiffany beats almost all of my former favorites.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Black Unicorn?
The way she got back at Rumplestiltskins!
What about Tiffany Haddish’s performance did you like?
Tiffany expresses herself with great emotion and her character portrayals, especially of men, are pretty damn funny.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cried with her at every tragic moment and laughed with her at every funny moment. She's a fantastic musician who can weave melodies with human emotions.

Interesting and lively, but...
Revisado: 05-31-16
Where does Phone Sex rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I feel the book content is very entertaining. The narrator is lively, engaging, and tries to get you into the story.
Would you recommend Phone Sex to your friends? Why or why not?
For entertainment value, maybe, but I think a lot of my friends won't be able to get into the content.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
As I said, the narrator is lively and engaging, but I felt her voice detracted from the book because it was distracting. I just didn't feel like her voice was suited for phone sex. It was too low and gravelly. She does have a great voice for making character impersonations, especially the guy voices.
