Historia
Caroline Wilton has no time for romance. She’s too busy running her family’s bar to even think about dating. She’s also one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, responsible for keeping the local ghost population in check. But even the most magical of witches can use a shoulder to lean on, which is what happens when Ben Hoult, the handsome doctor she never quite got over, walks back into her life. Ben is a single dad now, and as he and Caroline reconnect, they discover that they both have a knack for helping and protecting the people near and dear to them.

Molly Harper is always a good time
Revisado: 03-19-24
I enjoyed this book so much, including the complicated relationships and found family. Caroline was a little prickly but I still loved her. Her growing friendships and rekindled relationship was done really well. I like how the underlying plot of the Wellings is developing, but i always want to know more. I’ll be patiently waiting for the next book. My favorite detail in this one was the diplomatic agreements and treatises between Ben’s kids.

Amazing!
Revisado: 10-22-22
I think this was my favorite of the series, so far. It’s crazy because I LOVED Elbert’s story. This one showed the complexities of familial relationships and how the characters were able to move past a number of HUGE differences in order to forge new friendships/partnerships for survival and freedom. If I had any critique, I would only say that I would have liked to spend more time with Abby, but I honestly don’t even know what else I wanted to know about her. I just enjoy being in Joan’s “world”. I’m so invested in the characters.

Amazing
Revisado: 09-22-22
I’m new to this author, but I have quickly become a fan. This story was told in a vivid way that didn’t sugarcoat the lives of Black men and women, but still allowed them the dignity of personhood. The love story was so sweet and the “struggle” between Black and Will was very interesting. I’m moving on to the next book!

Until the fateful day she finds herself uttering the well-known phrase - "Let's get married!" Almost immediately, Charlene's seemingly perfect life begins unraveling at the seams. Daughter Stephanie's own relationship is about to disintegrate, and she might be just a teensy-weensy bit jealous of her mom. And Charlene seems to be spending more time with her ex-husband than with her fiancé, Dennis.

Couldn't get into it
Revisado: 08-15-20
I have recently become addicted to Carr's books, due to their simple formulas, but engaging writing style. Most of the women in this book were difficult to root for. At least three of them are miserable for no good reason. After all the messiness in the plot, I didn't find a good resolution for several characters. I'm not sure what made those women, appealing, anyway. I only liked the men and the wedding planner.

Passable story, unlikeable character
Revisado: 08-01-20
The plot follows the usual formula that Robynn has perfected. It's passable, but after plowing through this series, I have hated the heroine in every one of these Christmas stories.
I can't stand a foolish woman. Becca was written as childish, belligerent, and confused. She did not appear to use any logic in her decisions and blamed Denny. I liked him better in the previous books. These stories make me wonder why Denny would want to be with her.

Why not just make this a shifter series?
Revisado: 07-16-20
With all the references to the characters being "beasts" and "females", it was really hard for me to stay engaged. I'm surprised I didn't hear the words "specimen" or "mate". Because I've started the series, I have to finish it. Some narrators are better than others. The story is somewhat weak. Also, the feud with a fraternity is kind of silly. I'm used to there being a rivalry between two MCs. Oh well...

Hope is just plain exhausting
Revisado: 07-15-20
I really enjoyed the first book. Faith was annoying, but Hope is incorrigible. She went through this entire book with extreme cases of delusion and denial. Her stubbornness wasn't endearing, and she was often just mean. I can understand that Hope was very conflicted and dealing with a number of emotions, but she didn't really process or deal with anything until the end. I'm not sure why Colt would want her. Colt had his issues, too, but he seemed more intelligent. Very immature. I loved the wacky townspeople and the narration was excellent.

This was my least fave
Revisado: 07-02-20
It was difficult to listen to a story about a couple that hadn't been introduced before. Marcy was incredibly immature and her sister was almost unbearable. I had no feelings about Ian. He seems similar to Preacher, but less familiar, of course. This story didn't fully resolve itself at the end, and I didn't like that. I read these stories for escapism. To hear these characters ended the book with no money and possibly damaged familial relationships is a bit of a downer. I'm sure it'll be addressed in later books, but whatever.

Historia
I dig. It's what I do. I'll literally use a shovel to answer a question. Some answers, though, have been buried too deep for too long. But I'll find those, too. And I know where to dig - the Blackwood Estate on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. Garrett Blackwood is the only thing standing between me and the truth. A broken man - one with desires that dance in the darkest part of my soul - he's either my savior or my enemy. I'll dig until I find all his secrets. Then I'll run so he never finds mine. The only problem? He likes it when I run.

The heroine only seems smart
Revisado: 06-28-20
The main character is only smarter than the dummies that are in this story with her. She constantly makes mistakes and trusts all the wrong ppl. She doesn't think anything through and only obsessed over digging. With all the lies and disloyalty, I'm not even sure why the hero was so taken with this person. This story had potential. Also, I didn't like the narrator's portrayal of male voices.

Lots of similarities between this series and...
Revisado: 06-04-20
Lots of similarities between this series and Complicated. Women with hearts of gold and the salt-of-the-earth men that love them. The women had awful childhoods, but that didn't tarnish them permanently. I like the heroines, but I love the men. Tobi is the other side of the same shiny coin that is Johnny. I didn't like how Addie was trying so hard to be independent that it was detrimental. Just didn't seem realistic, but maybe that's just me.
