What's Going on and Why
Revisado: 10-16-24
Really great details in the story and read fabulously by George Guidell... but... I could not discern a plot or purpose. Very entertaining but seemed to wander aimlessly

Historia
It's spring in Burgundy. The flowers are out and so are the cardinals - of Pope Urban's renegade papacy, now on the run from the Vatican's would-be usurper Borja. Most of the Church's senior leaders have converged upon the city of Besancon, where the Pope plans to offer an ecumenical olive branch to the other Christian denominations with which Rome has been at war. Fortunately, Urban has up-time help. He can rely upon Cardinal-Protector Larry Mazzare's theological savvy, Sharon Nichols' medical skills, and her husband Ruy Sanchez's keen-eyed experience as a bodyguard-in-chief.

Great Story but Excessive Men/Women Conflict
Revisado: 05-30-22
Really enjoyed this. Got very tired of the continuous men/women conflict. Am really tired of the Nynaeve character too. I now guess that the series will be a conflict with a different forsaken in each book and hope that the series will end with the "final battle." We will see.

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

Revisado: 04-02-22
Loved it! I was disappointed that the readers were different than book one. The female reader in that book was awesome in her representation of Morraine in particular. The readers for this book did well too, but i was hoping for and expecting the readers to remain unchanged.

Enjoyed every minute! It's very contemporary, depicting a woman in combat. I am a male from a military family and still found the story enjoyable and realistic.

From the hero whistleblower of the infamous Theranos scam, Thicker than Water is a look at never-before-revealed details behind closed doors at the company, revealing a cautionary tale of corporate bullying, gaslighting, ego, and wealth running amok in Silicon Valley. Tyler Shultz had been in the workforce for less than a year when he emailed Elizabeth Holmes, his employer and the CEO and founder of Theranos, with concerns that the company’s lab practices were faulty, ignored quality control, and were potentially dangerous to patients.

The year is 1970. Emma Gable, a blind teenager coming of age in a small industrial town in Western New York, is about as far from the seismic cultural transformations rocking campuses and city streets across America as a person can get. Emma escapes the chaos of her dysfunctional family by dialing up random numbers on the phone in her bedroom, just to see who'll answer.

The setting is around 1970. People who were using phones at time will completely understand and love this story. Younger generations may struggle a bit to understand the antiquated phone technology but still should enjoy the story anyway.

Great story but extremely thick British accents
Revisado: 01-10-21
This was difficult to understand and follow due the the British accents, slang, and environment. The story is a good one, but I struggled to understand who was speaking and what they were saying. If you have any hearing issues and/or are unfamiliar with a British accent, I don't recommend this.
