Great Story, but....

The story was awesome, short and sweet but my issue is with the narration. The Haitian accent. I am almost positive that Tom Weiner has never even spoken to a Haitian person because the accent so so far off it's actually just offensive. This is as bad as people who assume that all Caribbean accents sound like Jamaican accents. It's like an over exaggeration of what Native Americans supposedly sound like mixed with a bad Irish accent. It was hard for me to focus on the story.

Audible originals never appealed to me, and I only chose this one to get me over the hump unyil my next credits kick in. This book was amazing the voice actors, the plot, the storyline all of it. I could 1000% see this being adapted for a movie.

Gawd awful and anti-climactic

After I saw the previews for this movie/show it looked so good and I love to read the books before I see the movie. This book started off fairly well and I kept expexting it to pick up and get exciting but it never did. I won't spoil the ending for you but it will leave you saying WTF and not in a good way. The performance was fine but the book was crap.

I am a 20 something woman writing this so take it as you wish. It was okay not terrible but not great either. It spanned three books and 30 some odd hours but in the book it was only a few days. I guess it's the incongruity of it that's bothersome to me. I would recommend this book to teens and tweens but not older people.
