Historia
Christina Bennett had taken London society by storm. The ravishing beauty guarded the secret of her mysterious past until the night Lyon, Marquis of Lyonwood, stole a searching, sensuous kiss. An arrogant nobleman with a pirate's passions, he tasted the wildfire smoldering beneath Christina's cool charm and swore to possess her.... But the feisty and defiant Christina would not be so easily conquered. Mistress of her heart and of her fortune, she resisted Lyon's sensuous caresses.

Breathy voices
Revisado: 08-27-24
Other reviews mention “whispers” but it’s the breathy tone of some of the characters I find annoying. Pity, because I love the story but am annoyed listening and can’t finish it.

From Mark Greaney, the New York Times best-selling author of Mission Critical and a coauthor of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, comes another high-stakes thriller featuring the world's most dangerous assassin: the Gray Man. While on a mission to Croatia, Court Gentry uncovers a human trafficking operation. The trail leads from the Balkans all the way back to Hollywood. Divergence from Grey Man style
Revisado: 05-11-23
Not only is this book told from a distracting 1st person POV, it provides extensive internal dialogue and self-examination to the point that you fell like you are the Grey Man’s psychologist and he is whining. Additionally, if that wasn’t bad enough, there is a VERY obvious soap box the Grey Man is standing on. Human trafficking is horrible and the statistics and dramatization of a real life scourge is a bit in your face to the point of preachy. I skipped most of the book to capture the bridge to the next book without suffering through this one.

Historia
Former FBI agent Kendra Donovan's attempts to return to the 21st century have failed, leaving her stuck at Aldridge Castle in 1815. And her problems have just begun: in London, the Duke of Aldridge's nephew Alec - Kendra's confidante and lover - has come under suspicion for murdering his former mistress, Lady Dover, who was found viciously stabbed with a stiletto, her face carved up in a bizarre and brutal way.

Great story but ugh
Revisado: 03-16-23
I admire the span of voices required to narrate this fabulous story - I love all of the Kendra Donovan stories - but, struggle with the narration. Over pronunciation used in some character voices grates on the nerves.
